Biography

Ken NogamiBanff Wedding Music Proprietor, Violinist Ken Nogami, is a native of Southern Ontario. He began his formal musical studies at the age of three. He is a graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Currently, Ken is a member of Symphony Nova Scotia, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. During the Symphony off season, which are the summer months, he and his family reside in Banff, Alberta.

Ken is an alumnus of The National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the National Orchestral Institute in the Washington D.C. area. He has performed with many orchestras in Canada and the U.S. He has toured extensively across North America, Asia and Europe. Ken has worked with such Artists as Nickelback, Nathalie Cole, K-os, Lionel Ritchie, Hey Rosetta, and Il Divo. An avid Chamber Musician, Ken spent two seasons as a member of the String Quartet in residence at the Shaw Theatre Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake. He also spent two seasons at the Charlottetown Festival in PEI. A veteran wedding musician, he has played for hundreds of ceremonies of all kinds over the past 30 years.
